Victor Ruiz Colomer and Joe Highton collaborated on the collective exhibition La propera mutació at CaixaForum Barcelona, inaugurated on October 21, 2021. Curated by Xavier Acarín Wieland, the exhibition explored the pandemic as a turning point to rethink human relationships with the environment, ecology, and other species. As part of the exhibition, Ruiz Colomer and Highton created a site-specific sculpture, accompanied by a sound installation by Eulàlia Garcia Valls. The artists, who have been collaborating since 2017, have presented projects at international events such as MANIFESTA 12 (Palermo, 2018), the 6th Moscow Biennale for Young Art (2018), and Endless Process in Helsinki (2018). La propera mutació was part of the young curators program by Fundació “la Caixa,” which promotes access for emerging curators to CaixaForum’s collections.

Arca, the pseudonym of shape-shifting Venezuelan artist, singer, DJ, performer, and experimental music composer Alejandra Ghersi, will return to The Shed for a new, four-part experimental performance cycle titled Mutant;Faith.Arca’s Mutant;Faith performance will take over The Shed’s Griffin Theater and will include three unique live shows, titled Gestation, Aftercare, and Ripples—performances that can be experienced as individual concerts or as a full series.
